Cricket musings

The crickets are out tonight. That means a peaceful night.

So what's so special about crickets? Durned if I know, but I sure do love the sound they make.

The surf is lively too. Crickets and surf together. Who could ask for more?

The age of self-deception

In the U.S.
Sarah Palin thinks she's qualified to be president of the U.S. and has seemingly decided to go for it.

Is it possible the Republican party agrees on this? Or some other party — that may not exist yet?

In Spain.
The president of the autonomous region of Valencia, fiefdom of the the conservative Partido Popular (People's Party), is on the verge of being indicted for his role in a massive financial scandal that apparently involves a few more of the party's higher-ups. Reaction of the PP? Closing ranks around him as an "honest man" and silence from the party's leader (for now...).

Makes one wonder what they're trying to hide.

Happiness is a path, not a destination.
